Admitting we have sinned is not always easy, but if we are going to live the way God wants us to we have to admit when we miss the mark. Remember that is what in really is: missing the mark. Now don't take this to mean that sin is really no big deal, because it is. Sin really keeps us from doing what God wants us to do. Sin keeps us from really seeing what God wants us to do. Our sin can also keep other people from seeing and doing God's will.
The important truth here is that no matter the sin, God can forgive it. There will be times when you are not sure if what you have done is really sinful or not. All I can say to you is take it to the LORD and ask simply:
If I were to do that to God, would it upset Him? If you can answer yes, then it is likely sinful.
So you must "confess" (tell Him you are sorry) and then stop doing it. You may find that it is difficult to stop doing some things and this is because it is probably a habit. God is patient with you as you learn to control yourself - so be patient. When you upset Him - ask Him for his forgiveness. Sometimes you may need to ask someone else to help you stop, this is called accountability. Make sure to find someone who loves the LORD and ask them to help. They can pray with you, help you when you struggle, and encourage you when you need it.
Remember, no matter what you have done God will always be there. He loves you so much.
